State Charity: Special Olympics
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Honor Council
The NYS CLSA Honor Council Award gives special recognition to those schools that have designed exemplary
programs for their high school and or middle school Student Councils. "Exemplary" is defined as participating in NYS CLSA programs and sponsoring activities. Any school that meets the criteria will be named an NYS CLSA Honor Council School. Eligible Schools: Must Support the Annual State Charity this school year to financially to be eligible to be an Honor Council. Minimum donation $100 Must be in attendance at NYS CLSA State Conference Deadline to apply is November 1, 2024 |
